Africa.
International
Debt Capital
HSBC is a long established underwriter and market
maker in the international bond markets with significant
local debt capital market presence, e.g. in India,
Malaysia and Argentina. It originates, underwrites
and trades sovereign, agency, financial institution
and corporate fixed rate bonds, floating rate
notes and medium-term notes, with particular strengths
in the Sterling, Hong Kong Dollar, US Dollar and
euro markets. HSBC also offers structured debt
capital markets finance for project and asset
based financing and client balance sheet management.

Market
The global money market business is a conduit
for personal and corporate deposits in all major
currencies. HSBC is a participant in the professional
money markets, taking large volumes of institutional
deposits and managing HSBC's retail banking clearing
operations including those in Sterling (with the
Bank of England) and Hong Kong Dollars (with the
Hong Kong Monetary Authority).

The HSBC Group has private banking businesses
in seven centres world-wide. These businesses
provide services and products tailored for particular

Equity
Private Equity provides unquoted equity to companies
in Europe, Asia and the Americas. It invests in
unlisted companies in such situations as management
buy-outs, management buy-ins, acquisitions as
principal, corporate restructurings, acquisition
finance and development capital. It manages long-term
discretionary funds on behalf of both the HSBC
